The 510 has a chrome trim strip which runs along the "drip rail" above the doors and over the rear window, it is sometimes desirable to remove this trim in order to check for corrosion, when paiting, or to replace with new trim.

Removal and InstallationEdit

Removing this trim can sometimes be difficult to do without damaging the trim. Some have had success by using a stamped steel bottle opener available at many grocery and liquor stores.

  • Use the rounded (bottle opener) end and wrap it with a few layers of electrical tape to prevent scratching your trim. Work the trim off slowly, moving back and forth down the length of it so it doesn't get kinks in it.
  • A soft rubber mallet works well for re-installation.
